"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

For the gears and frames, they're not organic designs anyways (a Black Mamba, with it's curves, might be) But they do a subtle dynamism that works well with mecha.
When I first looked at them, the illustrations looked like they had been vectorized. Is that how you proceeded?
